Interview with CL7 Katrina

Q1) Favorite Thing about OTF?:
Outpost 10F has always been a community of geeks, by geeks, for geeks. My favorite part about it is that there is always some spark of common interest that can be found with almost anyone who comes around, and that has led to some of the best friendships of my life.

Q2) One thing you'd change about OTF?:
I'd wish people to be a little more chatty with each other, I think, to engage more. That's been happening more in recent years, but I still see a lot of us talking past each other.

Q3) One theme you'd love to see added to OTF?:
I'd like to see the theme of "harmony and all Outpost functions working well" be introduced in the next year. :)

Q4) Favorite Team/Department?: Engineering

Q5) Favorite OTF memory from the last year?:
Lady beards. Working on the BARDIS was tons of fun. Developing mobile-friendly chats and seeing people able to better chat from their phones has been lovely as well.

Q6) How did you find out about OTF?:
Yeah.

Q7) What is your favorite theme in OTF?:
I think they all have something to offer. Ten Forward is my first love. BARDIS is my newest love. We're working on revamping Minas Tirith to make it more lovable, and King's Landing is wonderful as well. The D'deridex doesn't get enough love, I think. I'm not a fan of the red CCC, but classic is lovely. I love them all (except the red ones).

Q8) Favorite Avatar?:
I am specially connected to every one of the thousands of new avatars I've added over the last year and a half or so. I love them all; I could never choose just one. I'm enjoying Minas Tirith's new faces lately.

Q9) Which OTFer would you be for a day and why?:
I'd be Tanya. She lives in a beautiful home in a place with mild weather, has two wonderful children, and probably wouldn't hate me for taking her life for a day.

Q10) How long have you been a star trek, star wars, doctor who fan?:
Star Wars: 1990 Star Trek: 1993 Doctor Who: 2009 (whoa, for real?) Though I consider Trek my first love, I did see and like Star Wars first. It never captured me the way Trek did, and it's hard for me to believe Who came so late in the game, considering how much it's taken over my entire lifestyle since then.

Q11) What's your favorite change that has occurred since you've arrived?:
Wait, I know this one. Adding the CCC? Moving to outpost10f.com. Version 2? Version 3? King's Landing? BARDIS? OH! Line breaks! Adding line breaks totally changed how everyone chatted. Brilliant. Now if we could get some of that action going on on the updates, I'd be even happier. I'm also a huge fan of italics for everyone.

Q12) What other handles have you been using?:
There was a time when I came in with a different handle each time. But to do that I had to keep the same settings always. In recent years I've decided I prefer to keep the same name and express myself with different avatars/fonts/colors instead.

Q13) Favorite quote?:
“- Why me? - That is a very Earthling question to ask, Mr. Pilgrim. Why you? Why us for that matter? Why anything? Because this moment simply is. Have you ever seen bugs trapped in amber? - Yes. - Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five

Q14) If you had a level two armory, who would you most like to shoot for fun?:
Ice! He's fun to shoot. He melts.

Q15) What is your personal message to the Outpost for the Year 2014/2015?:
We're still going strong, can you believe it? Changing lives and building relationships, go us!

Q16) What do you see as being your future at Outpost 10F?:
I'll keep on trying to run Engineering as best I can, improving the content and systems of the place. One day I'll likely be tired of it and go back to just playing around, but I'd like to see everything in fine condition first.

Q17) What is one tangible object that you value above all others?:
...my head? Yeah, I'll go with that.
