Interview with CL4 McGrath

Q1) You're sitting here in OTF a year from now celebrating what a great year it's been for you, what moment did you achieve greatness?:
Hopefully I can help with departmental work over the next 12 months and generate some interest. If I can look back and say that I have helped members interact and hopefully attract new members I woukd consider that great.

Q2) Who is your role model at Outpost10F?:
I don't have a role model as such, I'm getting too long in the tooth to require guidance! However, Michiel, Robert, Dookie and Tanya are always friendly and approachable to old and new members, which is what makes a good role model IMO.

Q3) What things do you not like to do, but have to?:
Work :| I'd much rather win the lottery, kick back and relax. Also housework and shopping. You must think if this is all I have to worry about I have a pretty easy life! I suppose I do really, I'm pretty lucky.

Q4) Tell me about a favorite project in real life or an accomplishment that you considered to be the most significant?: Probably at work. I have cost saving targets and managed to hit my £250k target . I got a nice bonus out of it, too! It's a nice feeling to put lots of work into a 12 month project and achieve success.

Q5) What does a great day entail?:
If I manage to go a full day at work without getting caught on OTF on my phone! But seriously, if I can do my job to the best of my ability and make a difference then I consider it a good day.

Q6) Describe yourself in 5 words?:
Friendly, understanding, easygoing, witty, sarcastic.

Q7) Of the 5 words you placed in the previous question, define an example of yourself being that?:
Sarcastic. I tend to pick up on mistakes or make inferences from comments and twist them sarcastically. All good natured banter!

Q8) What's your superpower, or what's your spirit animal?:
Definitely invisibility. My tolerance of people can sometimes be stretched to the max, so the ability to disappear into the background and observe is perfect.

Q9) If you could elect an OTF patron to lead your country who would they be and why?:
Michiel. He loves beer! He could spearhead the campaign to purge the world of low quality beer and set up state run pubs. I'll put myself forward as his able deputy.

Q10) If you were to encounter Iain on the street, what would take place?:
I've never spoken to him personally, but I'd buy him a beer as thanks for being part of creating such a cool site. A pub, then maybe a club. I like beer, me...

Q11) Favorite in-chat experience?:
Nothing specific, but I do enjoy ongoing chats with Michiel about good quality beer and chats with Keith about cricket. Making fun of Ruth being a Scouser is fun, too :|

Q12) What is your best memory of the previous year?:
Just being able to escape the stresses of real life and switch off from it all is great. We all come here to chat based on mutual interests, which I think creates a memorable place to be. Ruth's timeouts are becoming a thing of legend however. You just know as soon as she comes into chat she'll be gone 7 minutes later!

Q13) Where do you see yourself in 10 years?:
Hopefully OTF will still be going strong. I suspect it will have a different format to now in an effort to keep up with the times (whatever they may be in 10 years). For me personally I would like to progress in my career and buy a bigger house within 10 years. I have also earmarked some holiday destination (USA, Canada, Europe) as I'm desperate to explore.

Q14) If you could add any feature or function to the Outpost what would it be?:
A friend referral system where members can receive benefits for referring new members.

Q15) Do you have a story to share?:
My memory on specific events is not very good I'm afraid!

Q16) Make up your own question and answer:
If I had one question it would be to the EC on what their future plans are for the site and what they plan to do to help it grow?

Q17) Additional Comments:
I love the site and like mixing with people from around the world. Long may it continue.

Q18) Ideas for the 20th Anniversary Yearbook:
Maybe a 'Where Are They Now?' section? Trying to make contact with members who no longer actively chat and asking what they do now and how they're doing.
