I first entered the 10f chatrooms in May 1999 just after getting the internet and looking for a site where I could discuss if Babylon 5 was better and more popular than startrek. I being a startrek fan and my son being a B5 fan we had many a debate and I set out to prove ST was more popular. When I got into the chat room I was met by a friendly welcome and there were some crazy conversations going on. I forgot all about the ST vs B5 stuff and caught up in conversation with some one called THE KAT.

It happened to be her first time in the place too, we startedhaving a conversation and a laugh and I discovered shewas from Yorkshire, not too far away. Both of us being a novice on the internet we became friends fast. We got our first ICQ and msn messenger around the same time and we both started learning how to use it and we thought we were great. We met regularly still in 10F where she shamelessly tormenting another member with his avator of captain Kirk and took the whole Kirk thing very seriously Kat kept referring to him as the Wig.. which he hated and I loved because it was funny seeing him try and get the better of her, but she always had the wit with words to get the better of him.

Meanwhile our children, her daughter and my son who were around the same age 12 years old at the time also started chatting in 10f and also became friends, that we kept in touch not only over the internet, but by phone.

Now 7 years later my 19 son has fell in love with 18 her daughter, so much so he moved over to be with her and they are very happy together. They are coming over to visit us in Belfast, Kat included, on the week of 10f anniversary this month.

We are no longer members of 10f, I was known as Leeta I use to be in the counseling/guilds but I guess I outgrew 10f and moved onto other things. But I just thought it ironic the week of 10f anniversary is the week I will be spending with my first 10f friend 7 years on, and we are more likely going to be in-laws in the near future.
