Cont. JKAD

JKAD made it to Commodore (CL8) through a long way. Starting with security, moving to head of security, additional engineering member, additional position of SW Sector commander, SW creative consultant. Which is more like when the youngsters ask the old JKAD what to do with their new plans for the Cantina. He occasionally still shows up to act as the old dude: say hi to his friends, talk about the good old days and tell some youngsters to behave. The best thing he liked about doing stuff for OTF was that they let him be creative, no restrictions what so ever. Others might have wondered why it came so natural to him, building CCC and all. The worst thing about the department stuff was the paperwork. Which just comes with the job.

May 19th 1999 was the day that JKAD got a mail, telling him that Ten Forward would get a Star Wars Section. JKAD had already put some ideas about Star Wars events on Andrew’s desk. He knew some html, had some graphic skills and was a huge Star Wars fan, might be because of this that they let him work on it. Together with Draco Hun they where awarded the first Jedi Master rank.

JKAD got an award for his work on CCC that is called: the Super Nova Award. He also has some select medals, but the CCC award shines the most. He says that it’s good to see that others appreciate the work you do, and it’s great that the work is more fun then actual work.

When JKAD has collected his free minutes of the day he will go to the forums. He usually doesn’t fell like going to the chat, because all of the youngsters scare him away. But when you catch him in CCC then he uses the Dodonna avatar, because he stole Jan Dodonna’s surname. In the trekkie world he likes to play doctor and also might go threw the list, looking for a name relative.

The best things happening to OTF was the adding of the Cantina, well the guy worked on creating it. And the Forums, because they allow people to keep up with the place without too much effort. Bad things happening to OTF where the new smiley’s, we all still miss the sleepy one. Also when every one was, or had to, focus on making OTF the biggest and greatest sci-fi site. A lot of fun left, and it was silly. And the globalize the Star Trek and Star Wars chat rooms. But over time he has learned to live with the idea that Star Trek and Star Wars is one big universe, well in OTF it is. OTF changed over the years, some to the good, some to the bad. All of the old OTF members will tell you that.
